| About Us
Coral Reefs 101 is a non profit foundation dedicated to education, preservation, and enhancement of coral reefs ecosystems, we are currently supporting the construction of the “SAVE OUR REEFS”, located one mile just off the coast of South Florida.
Our oceans are dying at an alarming rate for various reasons. There is only one progressive solution to help this problem, which is to build man-made coral reef ecosystems that will restore life to our ocean. Reef building initiatives by individuals like us far exceed any governmental programs in existence today for the construction of new marine habitat.
Coral reef ecosystems rival rainforest's in diversity and as medical research platforms. As many as 9,000 species and 80% of our local marine life live on our coral reefs today. Studies indicate that if action is not taken today, our most precious natural resource will completely disappear in the next 50 years. At this moment, twenty percent of our reefs are gone forever and fifty eight percent are in some form of decay or danger.
The construction of the “SAVE OUR REEFS” project will send the most visible message ever calling attention to the catastrophic events occurring in our oceans today.
This project will cover over one million square feet and will be constructed by the installation of over 13,000 modules. Each living cirlce module weighs approximately seven hundred pounds, crated from the most beneficial reef material available, limestone. By spelling out the words “SAVE OUR REEFS,” the exposure will be global. This project will be located in many flight patterns into and out of South Florida's International Airports.

One of the greatest benefits that man made reefs have to offer is the redirection of human pressures on our extremely fragile natural reef systems. This project may redirect up to 50% of the traffic from our local natural reefs from anglers and fisherman alike.
In addition to raising funds for the construction of the project, we will dedicate 10% of each dollar raised to go directly to a research study that will monitor growth rates and will provide us the information to modify as needed during construction, to maximize the fish population growth rates, and increase the rate of coral recruitment.
The foundation has important civic functions, the most personal to the organization is the interaction with the heroes that were wounded in the line of duty. To help them adjust to loss of limbs or other injuries, our organization is positioned to share the underwater experience in the "SAVE OUR REEFS" project and other South Florida dive sites.
Coral Reefs 101 foundation will work with educational institutions and organizations the “Save Our Reefs” project will provide a unique opportunity for studies as it will be a near shore classroom for our future marine biologists, who we will rely upon to “Save Our Reefs”.
When our mission is accomplished and we show that we can create new biomass through the creation of protective habitat, only then will the world understand that this is the most viable solution to this problem.
